Kabuse Sencha (Kabuse meaning ‘‘to shade’’) is a premium style of Sencha — in that it is shade grown for two weeks before harvesting ( yes similar to our matcha ).

This growing methods allows the leaves develop a deeper sweetness and rich depth of flavour, bringing in a unique taste to every cup.

The brew is a striking jade green, offering an intense yet balanced umami taste that lingers on the palate. With gentle vegetal notes reminiscent of fresh spinach and a smooth, full-bodied mouthfeel, this tea perfectly captures the refined character of traditional high-quality Japanese green teas.

Genmaicha loose leaf tea is crafted from Yanagi Bancha leaves blended with roasted rice. White mochi rice is usually used to create this blend. It has a smooth nutty taste, similar to popped rice ( like the rice bars ).
