About our Genmaicha tea bags

Perfect choice for a busy tea drinker, our genmaicha tea bags are a safe, non-toxic and 100% biodegradable material made from Soilon ®, derived from vegetable products.

The tea itself is made from Yanagi Bancha leaves blended with roasted rice. White mochi rice is usually used to create this blend. It has a smooth nutty taste, similar to popped rice, only more gentle. Sometimes closely resembling the taste of pine nuts.

How we recommend using genmaicha tea bags

1 genmaicha tea bag ⋅ 75-100°C ⋅ 200-300ml of hot (almost boiling water)

There are two ways to brew Genmaicha tea bags, depending on the kind of cup you’re after. For a smooth, balanced taste with gentle roasted notes, use water around 70°C and let it steep for a couple of minutes. If you prefer a stronger, heartier flavour that really highlights the nutty aroma of the roasted rice, go for boiling water instead — it’ll give you a bolder, more comforting brew.
