Matcha Lemonade

- ½ · Fresh lemon (peeled)
- 1 tbsp · Sugar or sugar syrup
- 2–3 g · Ceremonial grade matcha
- 150 ml · Water (50 ml hot + 100 ml cold)
- Sparkling water · Optional, for extra fizz
- Ice cubes · Optional, as desired
- 1. Make the lemonade base · Peel half a lemon and blend it with 1 tablespoon of sugar (or syrup) and 100 ml of water until smooth.
- 2. Strain it · Pour the blended mix through a sieve to get your fresh lemonade base.
- 3. Whisk the matcha · Sift 2–3 g of matcha into a bowl. Add 50 ml of hot water (around 80°C) and whisk for 60–90 seconds until frothy.
- 4. Combine · Pour the whisked matcha gently into your lemonade base. Mix or keep it layered — your call.
- 5. Add ice & fizz · Drop in some ice cubes and top with sparkling water if you want that refreshing kick.
- 6. Enjoy · Stir, sip, and feel like summer just got zen. 🍃🍋

Prepare the following:
🍋 ½ lemon (peeled – yes, peel it!)
🍯 1 big spoon of sugar or sugar syrup (sweetness = happiness)
💧 150 ml water (50 ml hot for the matcha + 100 ml cold for the lemonade)
🍵 2–3 grams ceremonial grade matcha (go for 3 g, life’s too short for weak matcha)
🧊 Ice cubes (optional, but highly recommended)

Start with the lemonade base. Peel half a lemon and toss it into a blender with your spoonful of sugar . Blend it like you mean it — we’re going for smooth and tangy.
Now strain that mixture through a fine sieve into a glass or jug. Add 100 ml of fizzy or regular water. What you’ve got now is your homemade lemonade base — refreshing already, right?
Next, make your matcha magic. Sift 2–3 grams of ceremonial matcha into your matcha bowl (no lumps allowed here). Add 50 ml of hot water (around 80°C — not boiling!) and whisk like a pro for 60–90 seconds until frothy and smooth.
Time to bring the two worlds together. Pour the matcha gently into your lemonade base. Add a few ice cubes if you want it extra cool. If you’re feeling fancy, top it with a splash of sparkling water for that café-level sparkle.
